Effective Gauge Face/Wheel Flange Lubrication: A solutions based approach
Effective implementation of gauge face / wheel flange lubrication is a key parameter for maximizing the economic benefits in managing the wheel rail interface. There are multiple products and multiple application points that can be utilized to achieve these targets. This presentation will focus on lubrication strategies with special emphasis on consumable selection criteria and technical requirements. By considering different international standards and by analysing specific customer examples different lubrication approaches will be discussed in detail with respect to selection and implementation considerations, performance requirements and expected as well as realized benefits.
