Biography
Biography: David D. Davis is a Senior Scientist for the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. in Pueblo, CO, USA. He is a resource manager for the Vehicle Track Interaction group; supervising 22 engineers. His duties include consulting, research and development work in the areas of vehicle-track interaction, special trackwork, rail neutral temperature management, track inspection and track maintenance for the Association of American Railroads, U.S. Federal Railroad Administration, U.S. Federal Transit Administration and commercial customers from around the world. He has written more than 300 technical papers and reports. Dave holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a professional engineer in the state of Illinois, a member of the American Railroad Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) committee on track and the Transportation Research Board (TRB) committees on Track Design and Track Maintenance. Dave began his railroad career as a track laborer and maintenance machine operator for the Chicago and North Western Railroad.
