Biography
Biography: Tim Elsberry is a rail transit professional with more than 39 years in the rail industry. He started his career working for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad which became the Family Lines and finally CSX. In 1988, he left CSX for a position at MARTA.
The majority of his career was spent in track and structural maintenance, inspection and leadership roles. Tim was the first Planner for the track and structures group as MARTA. In this role, he began his journey into asset management and state of good repair.
Recognized as an industry leader, Tim has presented on asset management internationally and at SGR roundtables for the Federal Transit Administration and a major Enterprise Asset Management software vendor.
Tim was an integral part of the team that selected and implemented MARTA’s current EAM System and continues to work diligently on ensuring MARTA is a leader in asset management and state of good repair.
Tim currently serves as the Director for Maintenance of Way and has responsibility for the track, structures, train control, power and lighting at MARTA.
