Biography: Michael Holbrook is the Senior Manager of Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Track and Right of Way department. Michael’s department is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repairs to DART’s 205 miles of light rail and right-of-way. Originally hired in Track Maintenance for Missouri Pacific RR, his innate ability to trouble shoot, resolve, lead, and direct quickly propelled him into management. Michael has more than 37 years in the rail industry and, notably, has occupied management positions 29 of those 37 years. Having worked for such entities as Union Pacific, Plasser American, Amtrak, and Pittsburgh’s Port Authority, he is considered an industry leader in all aspects of track maintenance, inspection, and design. Michael currently serves on APTA’s Rail Noise and Vibration Committee and is an active member of AREMA.
