Jon Jeambey

Biography: Jon Jeambey is a degreed mechanical engineer with over thirty years of experience in the rail industry. He started his rail career as an Engineer of Car Construction for the C&NW Railway in 1986 and later was hired by Trailer Train (now TTX) as a Senior Engineer of Research. He stayed in TTX R&D until he retired as a Director of R&D in 2018. Research and development of truck systems for freight cars has been at the center of his entire career. This research has included controlled track testing, over-the-road testing, laboratory testing, wayside data analysis, field trials, wear studies, and countless teardown inspections. He has also designed and specified custom test equipment such as research cars, instrumented wheelsets, instrumented test loads. Many of the test methods, procedures and specifications developed by TTX R&D under Mr. Jeambey's tenure eventually became AAR standard. Mr. Jeambey has also participated on many AAR committees such as the Mechanical Research Committee, Rail Technology Working Committee, Equipment Health Monitoring Committee and the Truck Performance Detector Working Group. Mr. Jeambey is now a consultant with his company, 3 PC Truck Consulting, LLC
