Biography: Walter Rosenberger joined TTCI in 2020 as Scientist in the Engineering Services Department, where he manages AAR Strategic Research Initiative projects, FRA research projects, and commercial railroad consulting work. Having spent 15 years in Norfolk Southern’s Research & Tests Department and five years with Rail Sciences Inc., he has expertise in derailment cause-finding, vehicle and train dynamics analysis, and other rail operations aspects. Walter received his B.S.M.E from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and his M.S.M.E. from NC State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in three states, having begun his career in process engineering design and consulting. He has worked in the rail industry since at least 1998. Walter is a member of ASME and IAROO and is involved with AAR’s Derailment Prevention committee.
